At the weekend I was at my best friend’s wedding. The venue was the Hotel Doolin in the beautiful seaside town of Doolin in Co Clare, Ireland. I was a bridesmaid for the wedding so I had a broad idea of what to expect however the reality of it was something far more spectacular.
When we arrived we drank mojitos in jars whilst nibbling on tasty tapas, catching up and taking probably ten too many selfies. The garden area which you will see in the photos below was perfect for fun photos. The dinner was held in a marquee at the back of the hotel. It was beautifully decorated with bird cages, honeycomb balls and bunting hanging from the ceiling, fairy lights and a beautiful personalised area which really showed the personalities of the bride and groom. The table numbers were made by the bride and her wedding DIY recruits. We ate great food and danced to the excellent band, ‘Til death do us party”. The entire event was amazing, relaxed and the perfect celebration for my favourite couple.
If any brides to be are looking for something alternative and relaxed, I really recommend the Hotel Doolin. Along with this quirky alternative wedding option, the staff were the nicest I have ever come across. There were so many kooky and quirky little touches that brought out the personalities of the bride and groom. It was like the weddings I have trawled through on One Fab Day or 100 Layer Cake, personal and beautiful with a relaxed, festival feel. This wedding would have been a great day regardless however the level of detail and personal touches made it extra special.
Below are some images of my favourite little touches to the event.
