I have four good girl friends getting married between now and July. That means 4 weddings and more importantly, 4 hen parties! One of the weddings and hen parties have already happened. You can read about the hen party here but I thought it would be good to share the fabulous wedding with you also!
The wedding was in Ireland. Church: Clarecastle Church, Co Clare and Hotel: Dromoland Castle, a stunning 5 star castle in Co Clare.
I wasn’t feeling very well on the day but I knocked back some panadol and set off to get my hair and makeup done. I had a blowdry with some loose curls at the end (they didn’t last very long…!) and then I had my makeup done by the fabulous Blush in Ennis. I kept it light on the face and eye lids but I did get lots of liner and some lashes.
The church was small and pretty. I had to sit at the back as I had the job of fixing the bride’s train as she came down the aisle. I think I did a good job, phew! The bride was stunning. She wore a combination of dresses, high halter neck and a very wow cascading and training back. The bridesmaids were in very sexy black and cream lace dresses. All the girls looked beautiful. The style at the wedding was fabulous. Most of the female guests are established Londoners so know how to pull an outfit together.
We then headed to the amazing Dromoland Castle for a champagne reception. This was a good 3 hours so everyone was nicely toasted before dinner. I decided the only way to get through and enjoy myself was to hit the alcohol. I had a tequila and got involved. Dinner was delicious. Scalops and bacon, butternut Squash soup, beef or sole (I had the amazing sole) and a selection of desserts. The speeches were emotional and lovely.
We danced our socks off to everything from Riverdance to waltzes to old school 60s, 70s and 80s. There was more entertainment throughout the night including a band, a DJ, some Irish dancers and some drummers. There was a conga line before 10pm which shows you where this wedding was at!
It was beautiful to see my good friend being so happy and content with her new husband. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Starr!
