We love Glamhatters

Ever since we came across Janie Lawson of Glamhatters recently, we have been a little  obsessed with her gorgeous hair pieces.

Janie originally studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins School of Art, and then went on to study millinery at Kensington & Chelsea College and Morley College in London. She has exhibited on numerous occasions at London and Paris Fashion Week, The Designer Wedding Show, The National Wedding Show and countless trade shows.

Her millinery fabulousness is regularly featured in fashion and wedding magazines such as Marie Claire, Red, Vogue, Elle, You, The Telegraph, Glamour, You & Your Wedding, Cosmopolitan Bride and Your London Wedding. To sum it up, she’s pretty amazing.

The Hen Planner team is fussy and pretty nosy. We like to know a little more about hen party businesses before we work with them. Glamhatters have definitely passed the test. We put some questions to Janie to learn a little more about her:

Your name and where you live
Janie Lawson, Kentish Town, North London.

Three words that describe you
Resourceful, fun, loyal.
Your favourite tipple
Bellini but must have a maraschino cherry otherwise it’s no fun!
Your desert island must haves
Husband, Children, Laptop.
Where your business is based
Candid Art Studios, Angel, Islington, North London.
Describe your business in one sentence
Fabulous hat making hen parties with a vintage twist – usually served with lots of tea and even more cake!
Why hen parties should come to you
I love what I do, I run hat making hen parties and that’s all I do. My Glam Hatter Girls love what they do and we will look after you so well you won’t want to leave.

We love getting crafty and making something we might actually wear. With Glamhatters, you’ll definitely create something right for you and surprise yourself with your millinery skills. It’s the perfect activity to combine with a day at the races – arrange the workshop for the night before and then you all get to model your headpieces at a fabulous day out at the races. The girls could also make something to match their wedding outfits and the bride to be could also make her own wedding day head piece.

If you would like Janie and her fabulous team to run a workshop for your hen party, you can find out more and contact her here. They cover London and can travel to your hen party in the UK wherever it may be!
