Hen Party Theme : Circus

Ladies are always looking for new and unique ideas for their hen party activities and hen do themes. One fun idea is a Circus Themed hen weekend. Obviously we are swaying towards the more cool side of the circus here and not the freaky clown!! From the decorations side of things, a circus theme always has a fun and retro feel. Here are some ideas on how you can bring this theme to life.

If you want to go the extra mile and wow the guests, setting the scene with an invite is a cute touch. Everyone loves snail mail although it might be hard to get everyones address. An e-invite will work perfectly also. Play on circus fonts and colours like those in the images below to bring your invite to life. Browse pinterest for more circus invitation ideas.

You can really make this theme work for lots of hen party styles. If you’re throwing a quiet bridal shower, a circus themed tea party will be simple. Most tea party companies will be used to providing this style of event like Oh So Sweet Occasions however you can also do a lot of DIY decor and download and print free printables from Pinterest and other online resources. If you want to embrace your inner child, put a trampoline in the garden and get bouncing. Alternatively a hula hooping hen party is a fun activity where you can learn some serious moves (including a hula twerk!)  or an aerial skills class (available here) where you will learn to twist in hoops and silks like a true acrobat!

You can go for the traditional vintage circus or you can add a modern feel with any colours like the bunting above. We also have some great chalkboard inspired bunting and signs in our circus themed hen party collection which will work really well for this party theme.

More touches

You can go even further with this theme and create some circus styled food like popcorn, having cute circus styled signage around the food. To bring your circus party to life, ask the girls to come dressed as ringmasters in cute tux jackets which always look fun and classy!

What do you think ladies? Have any of you organised a circus themed hen party? What advice do you have for those planning a similar party?
