8 Best Hen Party Drinking Games - The Hen Planner

8 Best Hen Party Drinking Games

Let’s be honest, when it comes to hen parties, a little alcohol is great to help set the tone and get the party started.

A few hen party drinking games can be a good way of upping the hen spirit and helping everyone relax.

If you are thinking about playing hen do drinking games, remember to consider the guests coming and their interest in drinking alcohol.

Also, drinking games are known to get a little risqué so also consider how comfortable the guests will be to share or listen to some not so clean stories.

If you are tempted on a few hen do drinking games, read on for some ideas!

1. Prosecco Pong

This is a fun spin on the classic university game, beer pong.

You can think of it as a classy hen party idea or the path to hen do carnage. Either way, it will be a talking point and will ensure the fun gets going.

It also breaks the ice quite well.

You can purchase the game here and it comes with 12 prosecco glasses and a 3 ping pong balls to play.

2. Where’s The Water

Have enough shot glasses for all the guests and the bride. Fill half of them with water and half of them with vodka. The girls each have to take a shot. Some will get lucky and some not so lucky!

3. Banned Words

Pick a few words that are really common or wedding related. Ban these words from being spoken over the hen weekend and put forfeits in place for those who forget and blurt out the words. For example: wedding, the groom’s name, bathroom, kitchen. The more common the better as the guests will have to come up with alternative words for these!

4. Keep a straight face

Get each of the guests to write down a word / words with a sentence beginning with “I am” or “I will”. Basically, the more ridiculous, the better. Put these all in a bowl and each guest then has to take one and read it out WHILST keeping a straight face. If they smile or laugh, there will be a forfeit!

5. Most Likely To

This is an excellent game to play with people you don’t know or you’ve just met. Perfect for a mixed hen party group! The hen party squad sits in a circle with a drink with one player asking a “most likely” question. On the count of 3, everyone points to whoever they think would be most likely to do whatever was mentioned. You take a sip for every finger that’s pointed at you.

Most likely ideas include:

  • “Be the drunkest at the wedding”,
  • “Pick someone up at a bar”,
  • “Get married next”,
  • “Lose something tonight”,
  • “Move to a different country”,
  • “Make a million euros”,
  • “Appear on a reality show”,
  • “Write a book”.

6. Roxanne

What a classic to take to the hen party drinking to the next level.

The easy fall back drinking game option! Ensure everyone has a drink in front of them and get Roxanne playing on Spotify. Each time the word Roxanne is mentioned, it’s time to drink up!

Perfect for a quick party pick me up.

7. Name 3

This hen party game is based on the board game Five Second Rule, so if you’ve ever played, you already know the basics. Each card asks you to name 3 of something in 5 seconds, so you’ll have to name things like three wedding destinations, three celebrity couples or three stripper costumes.

If you can’t deliver in 5 seconds, it’s time to drink up!

8. Bar Scavenger Hunt

This is one of our favourite hen party drinking games. Get everyone’s taxi’s organised early.

Spice up the bride’s night out with this game. You can bring all the hens in on it OR just give the bride the challenge.

Find a guy with the same name as the groom and get him to snap a picture with the bride. +1 for each guy you find.

Find someone from the bride’s home county or country. (+1) Add an extra point if he or she is from her home town.

If you’re in the bride’s home town, find people who went to the same college / school as her. (+1) Add additional points if they were actually in her class.

Find another hen or stag party. Ask the brides to bride and groom to pose together. +1

Ask the bartender to come up with a special drink that is “the bride’s drink.” Then start talking the drink up around the bar and convince strangers to order it by name (i.e. I’ll have The Amanda). +1 for each person who orders it.

Designate “the bride’s song” for the night. Get the DJ to play it at each bar. All attendees must sing. +1 each time the song is played. Double points if they play it twice in the same bar! Triple points if you develop a choreographed dance that you all do to the song.

Find objects that unintentionally resemble the male anatomy…you know what! +1 each.

Collect marriage advice. Ask people to write their advice on a napkin. If you want this to get naughtier, change this to advice for the wedding night. Target really drunk people for the best answers. +1 for each napkin you collect.

The bride needs to be carried across the threshold into every bar. Try to recruit a stranger to do the job, but in a pinch someone in your group can carry her in. You only score +1 when a stranger does the job though!
