Whether you are planning a low key hen party or celebrating with an all out, all the bells and whistles hen do, an arrival drink for the guests is always a big yes in our opinion. The hen party guests will be arriving after what could have been the worst week ever or they might be nervous as they don’t really know the group and well, you just don’t really know. A cheeky welcome cocktail will be a warm welcome for all the ladies showing up to the celebration, acting as an ice breaker for some and very much needed for others.
We’re going to bring you some drink recipes over the next few months to help you with your hen party planning and first up is the Strawberry Mojito punch. We love this recipe as obviously when you are catering for a number of people, you need to make enough to share around. A Strawberry mojito ares is a fun, summery drink, very girlie and the perfect sweetener to kick off the best hen night ever. The strawberries in the glass will look great with a black and white hen party theme or look great with luxurious flower crowns.
Watch the video below as the very lovely Hannah My Wedding Scrapbook shows us how it’s done.
– 5 large limes, quartered
– 3 tbsp caster sugar
– 250g strawberries, plus extra for serving
– A large handful of mint, stems discarded and leaves crushed
– 130g light brown sugar
– 470ml white rum
– 1 litre soda water
Strawberry Mojito Cocktail Recipe
Take one of the lime quarters and run it around the rim of each cocktail glass. Then dip the glass into the caster sugar to create a pretty rim.
Squeeze the juice from the remaining limes into your jug or punch bowl and add the ice.
Quarter the strawberries and discard the stems. Stir in the strawberries, mint and brown sugar.
Mix in the rum and add enough soda water for the sugar to fully dissolve. Taking a ladle, pour the heavenly drink into the sugared glasses and serve with a whole strawberry inserted onto the side of each glass for a summery and pretty dressing to your drink.
Get ready for the best hen party ever!
