Dublin Fashion Hen Party

Bridesmaids, have you got a fashionista bride-to-be that’s head over heels in love with all things stylish? Well we’ve got a hen party that’s not on the high street. Forget Paris, New York and Milan and hit the cosmopolitan streets of Dublin’s fair city, the home of too many chic secrets to mention. We’ve lined up a whistle-stop tour for you and your ladies. So put on your lipstick and Louboutin’s and get ready to take on the Dublin catwalk!

Stop 1: Hat Making Masterclass with Aoife Harrison

Did someone mention a wedding? You’ll be needing a hat so! Why not wow all the other guests by making your own. We’ve booked you in for a workshop with milliner extraordinaire Aoife Harrison. We have a major crush on her headgear that mixes classic simplicity with just the right amount of eccentricity! Aoife will guide all you crafty hens as you create your very own headpiece. And best of all, the bride goes free. Check out details of Aoife’s masterclass here.

Stop 2: Get Beautiful at Brown Thomas

Next up, It’s time to get lost in make-up heaven girls. The beauty hall in Dublin’s most luxurious department store is where our party continues. Book an appointment with your favourite brand and get those eyes fluttering with anticipation of what’s to come. From MAC and Benefit to Charlotte Tilbury and Chanel, this place has got you covered (literally)! Squeeze in some handbag swooning and steal a spritz of perfume before you leave.

Stop 3: Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne Hotel

Being so beautiful is hard work, so we think it’s time to refuel. And the uber fashionable Shelbourne Hotel is the best place for a bit of people watching/style spotting. We have just enough time for afternoon tea. Over the summer months, and Inspired by the epitome of style, beauty and high-class glamour, visitors to the Shelbourne Hotel got to experience its Elegance and Grace afternoon tea, which payed homage to Grace Kelly. The mouth-watering treats on offer were moulded on many aspects of Princess Grace’s iconic fashion accessories, including her Hermes Kelly bag, which was designed especially for her, her amazing wedding veil covered in lace and thousands of pearls, and, of course, her statement scarves, sunglasses and white gloves. Did you know she was also a big fan of champagne…a lady after our own hearts! Keep an eye out on their menu for more stylish options over the months ahead.

Stop 4: Shop ‘Til You Drop

Next it’s time to hit the shops! The Design Centre in the Powerscourt Centre was founded more than two decades ago as a forum for established and up-and-coming Irish designers to showcase their pieces. Today it’s a feast for the eyes, with everyone from Philip Treacy to Synan O’Mahony making an appearance on the shelves and rails. Here one-off and unique is assured and literally everything as far as the eye can see deserves to be pored over. Powerscourt is also home to The Loft Market where eagle-eyed fashionistas can spot some of the latest Irish talent.

We know you love to add a bit of vintage and second-hand bits into the mix too, so spare some time to explore Dublin’s side streets, back alleys and truly unlikely spaces where fashion is definitely alive and kicking. Boutiques worth a look are Om Diva, 9 Crow Street, Tahiti Vintage, The Harlequin, Jenny Vanders, Sé Sí, Carousel and save Tamp and Stitch for last so you can grab a quick coffee while you flick through the hangers. These super trendy shops have already done the hard graft of hunting down timeless gems for you. Aren’t they just too kind!

Stop 5: Hair Styling at Dylan Bradshaw

We’ve booked out the VIP room at Dylan Bradshaw for you ladies to get some star treatment. Wrap up in a fluffy robe and let the best hairstylists in town tame those tresses for a night on the tiles. Pop open more bubbly, enjoy some girly chats and don’t forget to wave to the celebrities getting styled on your way out.

Stop 5: Cocktails at The Morgan Hotel

It’s time to rest those tired feet with cocktails on the most stylish rooftop in town. We’re heading straight for the penthouse in The Morgan Hotel, which has its own private terrace with a funky camper van, chandeliers and a giant silver picture frame – the perfect backdrop for that all-important DIY photo shoot after your head-to-toe day out of fashion fun.

Let us know what town you want to hit next and we’ll get working on a real hen party treat for you!
