I was at such a lovely hen party a few weeks ago. The bride is a friend from Ireland who lives in London. We all know her for her impeccable style and taste which all fed through to the hen. It was organised by her sisters (also style queens) who went to massive effort with the event.
The hen party was in Galway in Ireland. For those of you who don’t know Galway, it’s a great city. Definitely one of my favourite spots in Ireland. The town always has a great atmosphere. We booked in to the Jameson Court Apartments which are a little outside of the city (but not far). These are gorgeous apartments. Modern, bright and airy with a boutique feel.
Activity wise we opted for Afternoon Tea on The G Hotel in Galway. For those of you who don’t know it, The G Hotel is a luxury five star hotel with stunning, colourful lounges. The afternoon tea menu includes pastries, freshly baked fruit and plain scones with preserves, delicious open finger sandwiches and sweet bites, presented on three tier silver tea stand. It also included a glass of bubbles.
Before we headed out for dinner we all gathered in the living room of one of the apartments.
The organisers / sisters had decorated the room beautifully. There were photos handing on the window and across some string. The champagne was flowing with lots of strawberries and there was a fabulous table decorated with some thoughtful personal touches.
The bride to be is a big fan of The Kooples (as is her groom) and her sisters did a spin on this. They stocked up on some party supplies from The Hen Planner Boutique including a our pretty paper sash, the pink rosette and the heart shaped word cloud, framed in a cute white frame from ikea. There were macarons and the cutest little jelly babies…!
There were also little hangover kits in lovely burlap favour bags:
We played the design a wedding dress game to start with. I’m probably the worst person to critique or have an opinion on this game. I would love to have been a fashion designer so this is one of my favourite hen party games. I never get bored of it and take it very seriously! The bride was the judge and we we’re divided into two teams. The bride is a big fashion fan and a big Poppy Delevingne fan. We tried to recreate this using toilet paper. We won :)
After that Mr and Mrs was played. The girls had recorded the groom so it was on the big screen. Another must play at a hen party.
We then headed to dinner at Vina Mara which was really good. The staff were really friendly and relaxed. It was the perfect place for us.
After dinner, we picked Halo for dancing. The girls had arranged a VIP area for us which I would totally recommend. It was great having our own space. The security staff were really good at getting rid of intruders to our area! The music was fun and we danced the night away.
